Over the month, the prices of 10 out of the 11 groups in the CPI calculations are likely to have increased slightly.  The highest increase is predicted to be over 1%  for transportation, due mainly to the marginal increase in fuel prices on 4 June.

In addition, the prices of houses and building materials are likely to have gone up by 0.49%, whilst those of restaurant and food services will have risen by about 0.2%.

Although not included in the CPI calculations, at this stage in the month the domestic price of gold is likely to have seen almost no significant increase, and the exchange rate for the US dollar has declined by 0.2% against the previous month.
