Schools create tourist information in French

Da Nang welcomes a large number of foreign visitors every year, many of whom are from French-speaking countries such as France, Belgium and Canada.  However, the city has lacked tourist information in the French language for visitors from these countries.

In an attempt to deal with the problem, a teaching project to create local tourist information in French is being officially implemented in Phan Chau Trinh and Hoang Hoa Tham senior high schools.

The aim of the project is to introduce the city to French-speaking countries and to create tourist information about the city in French. 

In addition, the project aims to help local French learners improve their language skills and develop team-working skills, as well as create an exciting, dynamic and creative learning environment.

Under the project, pupils from the Hoang Hoa Tham Senior High School have developed a number of tourism products with the accompanying tourist information written in French.

They have completed a photo book which vividly reflects the friendliness and hospitability of local residents. 

A tourist map of Da Nang has also been created to provide information on the city’s popular tourist attractions, restaurants and eateries, and other related tourist information. 

Meanwhile, a publicity handbook on the city’s Marble Mountains highlights recommendations and advice on what the tourists should bring with them to help them enjoy their visit.

According to the developers of the project, the participating pupils have been given an opportunity to learn more about the city’s tourism development potentials.  

The Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Education and Training, Mrs Le Thi Bich Thuan, remarked that teachers of French at the 2 schools have enthusiastically helped their pupils turn their ideas into reality.  She proudly said that many of their products have been used to promote the city’s image to international friends from French-speaking countries.
