The steel-hulled fishing boat DNa 90678 TS, owned by 31-year-old fisherman Le Van Sang from Hai Chau District’s Thuan Phuoc Ward, was recently launched.

The 814CV, 25m-long and 7.2m-wide boat was built at a cost of 21 billion VND.  The boat is designed to catch seafood by drag netting, but will also supply essential provisions for other fishing boats already operating at sea.

This is the third steel-hulled fishing boat to be built in Da Nang under Government Decree No 67/2014/ND-CP regarding fisheries development policies which allows Vietnamese fishermen to access loans for building new boats.

The first one, DNa 90777 TS owned by Tran Van Muoi from Son Tra District’s Man Thai Ward, and the second one, DNa 90767 TS owned by the family of Nguyen Suong from Son Tra District’s Nai Hien Dong Ward, were launched in March and May respectively.
