Last Saturday, a seminar took place in Khanh Hoa Province’s Nha Trang City to discuss ways to promote regional links and development between the 5 central regional localities of Da Nang, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh over the 2016 - 2020 period.

The event was chaired by Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, who is also Chairman of the Central Regional Key Economic Council for the 2015 - 2016 period.

At the event, Head of the central region's Development Consultancy Council Tran Du Lich presented a draft plan for promoting key regional economic development links over the 2016 - 2020 period. 

In reply, leaders from the participating localities discussed and agreed some effective measures to boost their links.

In particular, the Consultancy Council will take responsibility for giving feasible recommendations for promoting regional progress and asking for the support of the central government.  The focus will be on furthering the linked development of transport, healthcare, education and tourism amongst the 5.

The top priority will be to help these localities with their own development strategies in order to fully tap their great potentials and strengths.

At the event, the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment suggested that  a fund for the operation of the Central Regional Key Economic Council should be raised from its members.  Da Nang is willing to contribute 500 million VND annually, whilst each of the 4 remaining localities should give 250 million VND.
