The WB representatives praised the city’s government for ensuring their on-schedule implementation of the projects.  The upgrade of the local sewage and rainwater drainage systems to mitigate the effects of climate change was highly appreciated.

In addition, WB agreed with the city’s suggestion about the construction of wastewater monitoring systems in order to check input and output parameters at local wastewater treatment plants.

The international credit organisation also asked local relevant agencies to raise public awareness about collecting wastewater from local households and diverting it to the pilot My An-My Khe sewage system.  The design work of this project is underway, and its bidding documents are scheduled to be issued later this year.

The 1st bidding for building 5 first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes in the city has already taken place, whilst the bidding for the remainder are expected to be conducted before 2017.

The WB representatives stressed the need for the city authorities to complete site clearance soon for the extended Nguyen Tat Thanh Street and a road link between Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Phuoc and Hoa Khuong communes in October 2016 and in 2017 respectively.

They also agreed to give loans for the upgrading of 9.2km of DH2 street, which is parallel to the bypass on the northern side of the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Highway.  The Hoa Vang District authorities were asked to report about the site clearance work for the street before 25 September.

The WB delegation urged the city authorities to boost their loans disbursement for these projects in order to receive their additional financial aid.

The WB representatives and the city leaders also agreed to recruit more experienced employees to ensure the on-schedule implementation of the above-mentioned projects.
