The event was jointly organised by the city’s University of Technology, the Viet Nam Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and the University of Texas at Arlington, USA.
The conference offered a good opportunity for scientists and experts from both home and abroad to share their experiences in developing a synchronous transport infrastructure system to meet the national development requirements.
A total of 100 reports were presented by scientists from domestic and foreign universities.
Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung remarked that over recent years the focus has been on building a synchronous infrastructure featuring such key construction projects as the Rong (Dragon), Tran Thi Ly and Nguyen Tri Phuong bridges, the ring road on the southern side of city, and the Hue T-Junction overpass. These have helped to improve the links between the inner-city and the suburbs in order to assist the city’s socio-economic progress.
Vice Chairman Dung hoped that constructive opinions from the participating experts would help Da Nang find the best ways to perfect its transport infrastructure network, build a more civilised traffic culture, diversify the means of transport, and develop local port services to make Da Nang a hub for logistics in the central region and highlands.
