In an attempt to implement the ongoing pilot sales of State-owned social housing in the city, 404 apartments funded from the State’s budget have so far been sold, and the over 129 billion VND collected from the sales has been contributed to the city’s budget.
Most notably, the Department has already made plans for developing separate urban areas - the inner-city, the south-east and south-west sides of the city, the north-west side of the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway, and the northern side of the Cu De River.
Between January and August, inspectors from the Department conducted regular or unscheduled inspections to the construction sites of a total of 162 projects in the city. Fines totalling nearly 1.7 billion VND were imposed on 106 violations of the city’s construction regulations.
There are now 50 flood points in the city, a decrease of 8 compared with last year. According to the Management Board of the city’s Priority Infrastructure Investment Project, a 12.9 billion VND project to deal with flooding at the T-junction of Nguyen Van Linh, Do Quang and Nguyen Hoang streets is progressing well and is expected to be completed by late this month.
At Tuesday’s meeting, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh highly praised the Department for its great efforts in bringing numerous positive changes to the face of the city.
He stressed the need for the Department to tighten the management of local urban architectural planning work in an effective manner. The city leader also suggested that the Department should organise more international-level contests about urban planning if needed.
In preparation for the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, which will take place in the city in October 2017, between 5 and 10 local major streets will be chosen to be decorated with ornamental trees and flowers. This will make the city more attractive for both locals and visitors.
Secretary Anh also urged the Department to increasingly detect and resolve illegal and rampant construction works in such local districts as Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu. He also warned that the chairpersons of district-level People’s Committees will be dismissed if the number of illegal construction violations continues increasing in their locations due to their loose management.
As for the equitisation of businesses which are under the management of the Department, special attention should be paid to appointing leaders who have good ethics and qualifications to ensure the effective operation of their businesses.
