Final figures for tourist arrivals over last weekend

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the city welcomed around 127,000 visitors during the 3-day National Day holiday from 2 - 4 September, up 14.9% compared with the same period last year.

Of this figure, the number of international visitors increased by 12.9% to around 29,000, whilst domestic rose by 15.5% to over 98,000. 

The Deputy General Director of the Da Nang-based Viet Nam Tourism Joint Stock Co (Vitours), Mr Le Tan Thanh Tung, said “Over the 3-day holiday break there was a significant increase over last year in the volume of customers booking tours through local travel agencies.  In particular, an increase of around 20% was recorded at Vitours, between 10% and 15% at the city’s branch of Viettravel, around 10% at Viet Da Travel, and up to 10% at the local branch of the Ben Thanh tourist company”.

The Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, Mr Tran Chi Cuong, noted “These positive results are mainly attributed to the great efforts made by local travel agencies to develop attractive short-day tours at special promotional prices to satisfy the diversified demands of their customers”.

During the holiday, the number of visitors to local tourist attractions reached around 87,000, an increase of 17.9% against the same period last year.  In particular, the number of tourist arrivals to the Marble Mountains Tourist Area rose by over 30%.
