The event was jointly organised by the city’s Start-up and Innovation Ideas Centre, the Business Incubators Centre, and the Global Shaper Community Hub. The intention was to provide contestants with basic knowledge about start-up business activities in order to help them develop their own businesses.
A total of 9 outstanding teams made it into the final round. In the end, the Home Care team won the 1st prize for their ‘Home Care’ project which connects doctors with patients who want to have medical examinations and treatment in their own homes. The connection will be available via telephones, websites, and other mobile applications. Once operational, the project will help patients gain easier access to high-quality services at displayed prices, and allow doctors to increase their monthly salaries.
The 2nd prize was awarded to team Trippad for their mobile application for arranging travel schedules for tourists, whilst team YoKo won the 3rd prize for their Japanese-style Street Food project.
The 3 winning projects will receive financial aid from the city’s Start-up and Innovation Ideas Centre and the Business Incubators Centre to help bring them to fruition.
