According to some domestic technological experts, Da Nang is considered to be an ideal place for young people to start up their own information technology (IT) businesses.

Amongst them is 24-year-old Thong Le Anh Tuan, the leader of a start-up team called Zody.

Tuan decided to stop studying at the city’s FPT University to pursue his IT start-up dream, despite facing strong opposition from his parents and best friends.  Then he created his first 2 technological products, but they did not receive high appreciation from users.  However, that did not discourage the young man and he continued his efforts to develop a new app named ‘Zody’.

Like reward cards, Zody helps its users accumulate points when they spend money in eating and drinking establishments.  In return, the outlets can collect personal information about their customers through the customer relationship management (CRM) system in order to provide better services for them.

Only 3 months after its launch, Zody at https://zodyapp.com/ has now linked with over 100 popular eating and drinking places in the city, and it has been downloaded by more than 10,000 users.

A second example is a 27-year-old man who prefers to remain anonymous but who is the founder of his own private technology company which now has dozens of employees.

Unlike his friends of a similar age, after graduating from high school he sought a job at a local IT company instead of studying at a university.  His intention was to gain professional knowledge and management experience.

This young man said that it was very difficult to have a successful start-up business in IT because that market is always looking for new and different products.  He is planning to expand his consumer market into foreign countries.

A third example is Nguyen Ngoc Dung, co-founder of the Ylinkee Company.  Despite studying at the Construction Faculty of the local University of Technology and Science, Dung had a great passion for IT and nurtured a start-up dream.

After graduating, the 30-year-old took a management course and coordinated with 2 friends to set up their own company.  Their first product is a website at www.appnhe.com which attracts over 3 million visitors every month.  The company now has a total of 23 employees, and it is developing 2 new websites ‘quizz.vn’ and ‘yourdanang.net’.

In addition, Dung and his friends have introduced numerous effective ways to promote a self-learning spirit amongst their employees in order to build a professional working environment in the eyes of their customers.

Another typical example is Nguyen Quoc Han, 35, the Managing Director of the Glampy Company.  Han quit a high-paying job to start-up his own business.  Currently, his company has 28 employees and it is currently developing a new product called ‘Glampy’.  This app, the 1st of its kind in Viet Nam, can help busy women book beauty care appointments at home and select their favourite make-up artists or hair stylists.

Mr Han hopes that his product will become even more popular with customers from other localities nationwide and in other Southeast Asian countries.
