133.554 billion VND spent upgrading rural areas

In 2016, Hoa Vang District spent a total of 133.554 billion VND on upgrading its rural areas.  Of this, 25.36 billion VND was granted from the national target programmes’ funding, over 79 billion VND from the city’s budget, 20 billion VND from the district’s budget, 16.67 billion VND was donated by local agencies, organisations and businesses, whilst the remainder was contributed by local residents.

The money raised went into upgrading the rural infrastructure, developing local production activities, and to improving the environment. 

In particular, a total of 19.6km of concrete roads were built, and lighting systems were installed along 10.6 km internal roads in rural residential areas.  In addition, 8 schools, 11 communal cultural and sports centres, and 74 other sporting areas were created. 

During the year, the district offered free vocational training courses for 2,150 local residents which helped them to find suitable jobs.

In 2017, the focus will be on helping local residents to promote their production activities in order to raise their monthly incomes.  Importance will be attached to developing more infrastructure facilities, boosting socio-cultural activities, ensuring local security, and protecting the environment.

Municipal People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh praised the Hoa Vang District PC and its staff for their great efforts in 2016.  He underlined the need for the district to continue to fully tap the potential of all local resources, to perfect its infrastructure, and to boost the local economy.  Also, importance will be attached to applying hi-technology into agriculture, and creating more organic rice, vegetable and flower growing areas.
