Da Nang tourism promotion event held in HCM City
Last Saturday, the Da Nang Department of Tourism held a tourism promotion programme in Ho Chi Minh City to provide local travel agents and businesses with information about the city’s attractive tourism products and events in 2017.

The Department’s Deputy Director Truong Thi Hong Hanh remarked that a wide range of new tourism products will be launched in the city this year. Included are sunrise tours on the Han River, Han River-Tho Quang Seafood Wholesale Market tour, and some cable routes in the Ba Na Hills Resort.
Ms Hanh revealed that the city will also host various impressive events, including the International Fireworks Festival between 29 A June, the 6th Asian Golf Conference in May, and the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in November.
Meanwhile, Mr Le The Son from the Da Nang Travel Association, said that this year, Da Nang is also launching special offers on tours that include air tickets, while giving 30% discounts for visitors in spring and winter.
Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department La Quoc Khanh, remarked that Da Nang has been attractive to both domestic and foreign holiday makers. He said that the tourism promotion programme is expected to give a chance for local firms to meet their new partners in Da Nang to promoting the growth of Viet Nam’s tourism.
Last year, Da Nang welcomed a total of 5.51 million visitors, up 17.7% against 2015. Of this figure, 1.66 million were foreigners, up 31.6%, whilst the remainder were domestic visitors, up 12.5%. Thanks to this, the city’s tourism sector earned 16 trillion VND (745 million USD) in revenue, an increase of 24.7% over the previous year. The sector also created jobs for about 27,000 people.
In 2017, the city’s tourism sector is targeting to receive 6.1 million tourists, including 1.9 million foreigners and 4.2 million domestic tourists, as well as to earn 17.87 trillion VND (809 million USD) in revenue, up 11.84 % aganist 2016.
