Accordingly, the construction will be officially completed on April 10, followed by check-ups on the next day.

After the 4-day trial operation period, the terminal is projected to serve the first flight on May 8. All flights will be transferred to the new facility from 9-15 May.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam has joined its efforts with the ministries of Transport and Construction to complete procedures for the new terminal’s operation.

As one of the key infrastructure projects in Da Nang, the construction of the international terminal at the airport began in November 2015 with a total investment of over 3.5 trillion VND (US$154 million).

Upon its completion, the airport will be able to receive 6 million passengers per year and serve 1,600 passengers in peak hours.

The city’s airport is the third largest international airport in Viet Nam after the Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi and Tan Son Nhat in the southern economic hub of HCM City. It is an important gateway to the central region.
