Sharp rise in exports
According to statistics released by the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the city earned an estimated 219 million USD from exports in the first 2 months of this year, up 10.7% compared with the same period last year.

Over the 2-month period, FDI enterprises operating in the city took the lead in export turnover with 103.1 million USD, up 8.9% against the same period last year. They are followed by local businesses with 66 million USD, a 10.2% rise, and central state-owned businesses with 50.2 million USD, up 15%.
The highest growth was in electrical equipment and electronics, up 14.3% to reach 72 million USD, followed by wooden products and handicrafts, up 13.2% to hit 2.2 million USD, and textiles and garments, up 11.8% to reach 57 million USD.
In addition, the export turnover of rubber products climbed by 10.7% to hit 6.8 million USD, whilst that of children’s toys rose by 8% to reach 10.9 million USD and seafood products increased by 3.9% to hit 27 million USD.
