Efforts to attract more visitors during tourism peak season
Since the start of the year, Da Nang’s Ngu Hanh Son District has recorded significant achievements in its tourism activities, and the district's popular attractions together have welcomed a large number of visitors from both home and abroad.

The Head of the Management Board of the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, Mr Le Quang Tuoi, remarked that the Marble Mountains Tourist Area received a total of 27,346 domestic and foreign visitors over the recent 4-day holiday period between 29 April and 2 May for the National Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labour Day (1 May), up 15% against the same period last year.
In attempting to attract more visitors to this site during the tourism peak season, various exciting tourism programmes and attractive tours is being offered. Included are climbing tours to the Thuy Son Mountain for foreign visitors, and other ones admiring a population of 7 trees in the area which were recognised as Viet Nam Heritage Trees by the National Committee of Nature and Environmental Protection early this year.
According to the Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, Mr Nguyen Duc Vu, various fascinating cultural and sporting activities to welcome this year’s Beach Tourism Season took place between 27 April and 3 May at the East Sea Park, the Son Tra Peninsula, and beaches in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts.
This year’s Beach Tourism Season is expected to attract a great deal of attention from locals and visitors thanks to a wide range of exciting activities held alongside beaches in the two districts. They include the organisation of a kayak race, stalls selling souvenirs, eating and drinking areas, and fascinating beach sport performances.
Ngu Hanh Son District People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman Nguyen Hoa, noted that the district authorities have taken various proactive measures to boost the local tourism promotion activities during this summer tourism season.
The focus was on asking local restaurants, hotels and resorts to strictly comply with the city’s regulations on environmental sanitation, and to offer their services at reasonable prices during peak days.
In addition, importance was attached to stopping the harassment of tourists and dealing with illegal street vendors who insist on begging passers-by to buy their goods. Heed was also on preventing any groups of touts from persuading tourists to buy goods at particular shops in such popular attractions as the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, and the Quan The Am (Avalokitesvara) Pagoda.
Also, one emphasis is on implementing the 1st phase of the ‘Exploring Thuy Son at Night’ project, which has already been approved by the city's authorities. In addition, greater efforts are made to develop more tours to the historical relic site K20 which is nestled in My An Ward’s Da Man Village in Ngu Hanh Son District.
Ngu Hanh Son District PC Vice Chairman Nguyen Hoa, said “The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2017, which entitled ‘Toa Sang Ngu Hanh Son’ (Shining Marble Mountains), is taking place in the city until 24 June. The local district authorities are doing their utmost to ensure a friendly tourism environment for visitors during the festival. In addition, importance is attached to tightening the management of tourism services at local accommodation establishments, and ensuring support services for visitors at local popular attractions in order to help them enjoy a safe and meaningful summer vacation”.
