According to a spokesperson for the Da Nang Tourism Department, the city is likely to have welcomed 612,922 visitors by the end of this month, which will be an increase of 46.8% compared with the same period last year.

Of this figure, the number of foreigners is expected to have risen by 81.2% to 205,995, and domestic visitors up 33.9% to 406,927.

Thanks to this, the local tourism sector is predicted to have earned over 1,800 billion VND in revenue, a rise of 48.8% compared with the previous year.

Between January and May, Da Nang will have welcomed a total of 2,580,114 visitors from both home and abroad, up 36.2% against last year and representing 41% of the year’s target.  1,029,889 of them will have been foreigners, a rise of 71.6%, with the remaining 1,550,225 being domestic visitors, a climb of 19.7%.  The local tourism sector’s revenue will have reached over 7,500 billion VND in total, which will be a 38% increase in comparison with last year.
