DAU Chairman Nguyen Thi Anh Dao said the course aims to provide high-quality manpower for car makers in the region.

It’s also the first private college in the region launching this specific course for this industry.

According to the Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturing Association (VAMA), the country’s automobile industry, including 18 foreign-invested and 38 domestic investors, produce 300,000 cars each year with annual revenue of 1 billion USD.

The industry also creates 80,000 jobs each year.

The college and representatives of 20 automobile businesses also agreed on the establishment of practical courses at automobile factories for students.

Japan’s Linux Professional Institute (JPI), the Evolable Asia company, and DAU have established an information technology (IT) human resource training programme.

In March, the university, in co-operation with Japan’s Linux Professional Institute and Evolable Asia company, launched an Open Source Software education programme for information technology in the region.

DAU also inked an agreement with the Japan of Asia organisation for nursing courses that serve the Japanese market.
