Famtrip - efficient way to promote city's tourism
Over recent years, Da Nang has welcomed a large number of famtrip delegations from travel and media agencies at home and abroad.

The purpose of such famtrips is to provide participating travel agents and reporters worldwide a good opportunity to conduct their survey activities into the city’s infrastructure facilities, along with its attractions and new special products.
In particular, famtrips indeed helps participants to develop their new tours, as well as to promote and sell their tourism products to clients in a more suitable and professional manner.
As for the participating reporters, they find it easer and more effective to write their attractive articles reflecting how wonderful their practical presstrips are, and this is a good way to encourage others to book journeys to the city.
According to Mr Hoang Ngoc Thanh, the Vice Director of the municipal Tourism Promotion Centre, there is an upward global trend of organising famtrips featuring the participation of influential celebrities, journalists and bloggers worldwide who usually make reviews worth reading of the land, people and culture of destinations they have visited.
The Centre has actively engaged in introducing famtrip delegates to various choices of specific local tourism products to satisfy their diversified demands.
Recently, a Japanese famtrip delegation showed their keen interest in learning more about local street foods with a focus on exploring the special characteristics of these dishes and identifying whether or not they meet the food safety and hygiene standards, instead of surveying the allures of local attractions.

Last year, the municipal Travel Association received a total of over 10 famtrip delegations from prestigious domestic and foreign businesses.
Since the start of this year, the city has hosted many famtrip groups from such its tourist foreign markets as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand.
In the years ahead, representatives from big travel agencies from Germany, France and Italy are expected to make their famtrips to this beautiful seaside city.
Currently, the municipal Tourism Promotion Centre is also now taking more effective measures to promote local beach holiday tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition) which might generate high revenues to local tourism businesses.
In attempting to attract more foreign visitors, a wide range of international-scale events have also been organised in the city to date. These have included the Da Nang International Fireworks Competitions/Festival, the 2015 - 2016 Clipper Round the World Race, the Da Nang International Marathon, the 2016 Asian Beach Games, the 2016 Beach-Leisure & MICE Travel Mart, the Da Nang Kite Festival 2016, and the 2017 Asia Golf Tourism Convention, and more recently, the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 (AELW).
Thanks to the great success of the events mentioned above, it is a matter of course that there has been a growing number of organisations and individuals from foreign countries worldwide grasping an insight into Da Nang’s special tourism products, thereby helping to bring more international visitors to this fascinating destination.
