Tourist arrivals expected to hit 143,000 during Christmas and New year holidays
Da Nang will host 143,000 tourists in total, including 82,000 foreigners, during the Christmas and New Year holidays from 24 December through 2 January.

The city’s tourism authority said a total of 65,000 tourists have already booked rooms at hotels and resorts to explore the city’s landmarks.
It said a total of 61,000 foreign visitors will take 357 flights from Australia, the US, Europe, Japan, China and South Korea to the city during the Christmas season.
Five-star hotels and resorts, including Furama, Fusion Maia, Pullman, One Opera and Novotel, will also host buffets and New Year’s eve parties for locals, and foreign tourists staying in the city, during the holiday week.
Budget airline VietJetAir plans to carry 180 tourists in total on the Incheon-Da Nang flight to the city on the first day of the New Year, while cruise MSC Lirica will bring 2,000 tourists to dock at Tien Sa Port on 1 January.
The national flagship carrier Viet Nam Airlines has offered promotional tickets of 29 US$ for domestic travellers to destinations in the Southeast Asia and East Asia, while flights to Europe, Australia and the US are just 249US$.
The authority said the year of 2018 would see increasing flights from Incheon, Busan, Deagu of South Korea, Hongkong and Osaka as budget airlines began launching their direct flights in 2016.
