Viettel is Viet Nam's most valuable brand at US$2.5 billion
Viettel ranks first amongst the 50 most valuable brands in Viet Nam at US$2.569 billion, the military-run telecoms company announced on Monday.
As one of the 3 major mobile operators in Viet Nam, Viettel’s brand value in 2017 has nearly tripled last year’s figure reported by Brand Finance, a brand valuation service.
In addition, Viettel has also been listed by the consultation service Viet Nam Report as number one in the list of Viet Nam’s most profitable companies and rated the largest taxpayer by the General Department of Taxation.
In the first half of 2017, Viettel generated a total of 118 trillion VND (5.2 billion US$) in revenues and earned a pre-tax profit of 21.672 trillion VND (954 million US$), both exceeding the company’s targets.
In April, Viettel launched its 4G services nationwide, and it currently has the largest 4G coverage with 36,000 stations in total throughout the country.
In the area of research, Viettel has succeeded in developing a real-time phone call charging system, which has been applied to over 90 million subscribers in Viet Nam and 5 foreign markets where the company is providing services.
