Bustling purchasing atmosphere for Tet

In the days leading up to the Tet Festival, especially at the weekends, the number of customers, most of whom are young shoppers, flocking to specialised shopping areas along busy Le Duan street have been increasing significantly.

In a similar vein, kiosks selling traditional handicrafts, ornamental creatures and souvenirs along a section of Nguyen Dinh Tuu in Thanh Khe District have also been packed up with shoppers from morning until night.

The Blue stores on Le Duan is seeing a 50% increase in the volume of customers purchasing for the Tet Festival compared with normal days. 

These stores are offering a wide range of high quality fashion clothes for Tet featuring diverse and eye-catching colourful designs at competitive prices in a bid to satisfy the diversified tastes of customers of different age groups.

Likewise, other clothes boutiques along this downtown street have managed to attract large crowds of shoppers with attractive discounts for the ongoing year-end shopping season.

Many customers are eagerly engaged in choosing their items of interest amongst a sea of discounted products.  Many government employees said they work during the day and only have the evening hours to do shopping. 

Some showed their keen interest in buying beautiful and correctly-sized clothes for themselves because Tet is just around the corner, whilst others frequent these stores with their friends to relish in the boisterous purchasing atmosphere before Tet.

Footwear and handbag shops also attracted a great amount of customers, even though they were a little less crowded than clothing boutiques.

As one of the most popular footwear shops in the city, the Oahi shoe shop at 42 Le Duan has also been seeing busy trading activities. 

This shop specialises in offering a variety of styles of modern and colourful footwear for shoppers of all ages. 

In particular, sandals, slippers, work shoes, high heels, and doll shoes of different sizes, designs and colours are now amongst the best-sellers.   An average pair of women’s shoes is priced at only hundreds of VND.

Taking the advantage of good demand of Tet stuffs, traders at the Nguyen Dinh Tuu specialised area are also doing a roaring business of traditional handicrafts, ornamental creatures, and a variety of Tet flowers.

Apart from a wide range of traditional handicrafts, the specialised area features over 70 kiosks selling flowers, plants and ornamental creatures, with each covering an area of 36m2. 

Many traders touting business at this area happily revealed that their own kiosks have seen a high consumption by local consumers in recent days leading to Tet.

From early morning until midnight, these kiosks have been busy and bustling with local customers who want to buy ornamental trees to decorate their houses to celebrate Tet.

On display at these kiosks are gorgeous floral varieties, especially colourful Tet flowers, including cymbidium hybrid, althaea rosea, gladioli, yellow chrysanthemums, lilies, orchid flowers, roses and sunflowers, all of which are sourced from Da Nang and Da Lat City.
