In line with the city’s project for making adjustments to the development of local IPs by 2020, the city is planning to build new IPs covering a total area of over 1,000ha.  They are the 2nd phase of the Hoa Cam IP covering around 125.14ha, the 405.49ha Hoa Nhon IP, the nearly 400.02ha Hoa Ninh IP.

Over the past year, the 6 IPs spent a total of over 79 billion VND on developing their infrastructure facilities and conducting their maintenance work.  In addition, special heed was paid to constructing many cultural establishments for workers at these Ips, and pre-schools for their children.

The figures were officially released at Tuesday’s meeting organsied by the Authority of the municipal Industrial and Export Processing Zones to review its performance recorded last year, and identify its major tasks for this year.

In his remarks at the review meeting, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highly praised the local IPs for making their significant contributions to the city budget, as well as furthering the city’s progress over the past year.

He also underlined a must-do for the Authority to ensure the quality of investment projects at local Ips, and to encourage businesses to apply more advanced technologies into their production activities.

Most notably, it was revealed at the meeting that the current Hoa Khanh IP will be turned into an eco-IP on a trial basis in the coming time.  Accordingly, the existing steelmaking establishments there will be encouraged to make a shift to environmentally-friendly business segments.

The Prime Minister recently gave the go-ahead to the relocation of the Da Nang IP to another location so as for its existing site to be converted into urban land areas in years ahead.
