Tourist arrivals likely to be up 30% over Tet
Da Nang is likely to host a total of around 300,000 tourists, including 132,000 foreigners, during the upcoming Tet Festival, an increase of nearly 30% against the same period last year.

A spokesperson for the municipal Department of Tourism said more than 100,000 tourists, and 75% of them were foreigners, had already booked rooms at local hotels and resorts to enjoy the Tet festival and visit other attractions.

Domestic and international airlines have planned a total of 269 flights connecting the city to Hong Kong, South Korean and Japanese airports such as Daegu, Yang Yang, Busan, Incheon, and Osaka - and the Vietnamese cities of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will supply 1.4 million seats in total for air travel from February to March. Budget airline Jetstar Pacific will provide around 600,000 seats for its passengers.

The city plans to host a series of cultural events for domestic and foreign visitors during the holidays. The Ba Na Hills Mountain Resort, which is 1,400m above sea level, will feature cultural and musical performances until 9 March. Meanwhile, exciting carnival, street-music and folk-song performances will be staged along the Han River banks from 16-25 February.

In addition, the dragon’s head at the eastern end of the Rong Bridge will breathe fire and squirt water at 9.00pm each day between 14 and 18 February. These days are the 29th of the 12th lunar month to the 3rd of the 1st lunar month. The Han River Bridge will swing open from 11.00pm to midnight from 16-18 February. These days are from the 1st to the 3rd of the 1st lunar month.
Ryosuke Kira, the manager of three Japanese restaurants in Da Nang, namely Bushido, Banjiro and Dining Bar Asoviva, said his restaurants would stay open during Tet.
