Flowing recent approval by the Da Nang authorities, eligible tourist boats operating on sections of the Han River will be permitted to carry passengers during performance nights of the upcoming Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) which will take place from 30 April to 30 June.

In particular, tourist boats will be required to offer trips only once a night during DIFF.

The local authorities are currently taking numerous effective measures to ensure that no waterway traffic accidents will happen in this city during the upcoming fireworks festival.

Boats’ operators must strictly comply with the city’s inland waterway safety regulations.

Boats must carry the number of passengers within their design capacity, and they are compulsorily equipped with fire extinguishers, medical supplies, life-jackets, signal lights, intercom systems and other safety equipment in order to enhance the ultimate safety of their passengers.

Last, but not least, tickets to watch the fireworks from boats must be sold at the displayed prices.

Starting from 12 April, the former Song Thu Port, and a section of the Han River between the Song Thu Corporation and approach roads to the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, are being used temporarily for the anchorage of tourist boats because of the temporary shut-down of the former Han River Port to make way for the organisation of DIFF.

On 9 July, boats will resume their normal operation at the former Han River Port.
