Public sector employees nationwide will have 4 days off work from 28 April to 1 May for the forthcoming National Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labour Day (1 May). In particular, the opening night of Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018 will coincide with the start of these important public holidays.

Many local travel agencies are now taking advantage of rising demand for travel by offering various attractive tours.

The average number of domestic visitors booking tours through local travel agencies has climbed by between 10 and 15%. In particular, many of the bookers choose multi-day tours: 4-day/3-night and 3-day/2-night trips to Da Nang and its neighbouring localities.

Mr Doan Hai Dang, the Director of the city’s branch of Vietravel, remarked that generally fine and dry conditions are most likely to be in place in the city over the upcoming public holidays. The favourable weather conditions will faciliate tourists to enjoy their 4-day break holiday in the city.

Therefore, there is an upward trend in the number of bookings for tours by domestic and foreign visitors through the city’s branch of Vietravel over the DIFF period, compared with last year. The majority of domestic holiday-makers are from Ho Chi Minh City, whilst foreign visitors mainly come from Japan and South Korea.

The reason for the slight increase in the volume of foreigners arriving in the city over the holidays is that International Labour Day (1 May) is considered one of the 3 ‘golden weeks’ in foreign countries, during which their residents often travel abroad to enjoy their vacations.

Da Nang- Hoi An-Ba Na Hills and Da Nang-Hoi An-Hue tours are most preferred by bookers. Such domestic tours now range from 5.9 million VND to 7.5 million VND per person.

Mr Le Tan Thanh Tung, the Deputy General Director of the city-based Vitours, said the volume of domestic visitors booking tours through his travel agency has climbed by about 10%, whilst foreigners with about 50% up.

At present, ‘Hanh Trinh Di San Mien Trung’ (Heritage Discovery Tours in the Central Region) are now already fully booked.

Vitours said the prices of its tours remain unchanged compared with last year. Furthermore, room rates of between only 1.2 million VND and 1.5 million VND are offered for those who book tours as early as possible.

The city branch of the Ben Thanh Tourist has focused on enhancing the quality of its most highly recommended tours: ‘Dat Quang Xua’ (The Land of the former Quang Nam-Da Nang Province) and ‘Dau An Mien Trung’ (Impressions about Central Viet Nam).

The volume of bookings by domestic and foreign holiday-makers through this travel agency has jumped by about 15% and 10%, respectively.

Ms Phan Thi Le Hai from Ha Noi said it is the second time that her family has come to this beautiful seaside city. She said she is very impressed by the local safe, friendly and civilised tourism environment.  During her first trip to the city, local tourism services were offered at reasonable prices, and there was no the overcharging of visitors in comparison with other popular destinations nationwide.

Mr Cao Tri Dung, the Chairman of Da Nang Travel Association re-affirmed Da Nang stature as an attractive magnet in Central Viet Nam for travellers from both home and abroad with the rapid annual growth rate in the number of tourist arrivals over recent years.

Besides the city’s good infrastructure and its diversified tourism products, there are currently a total of 20 scheduled and 10 charter international routes connecting Da Nang with foreign destinations.
