The intention was to review the management of traffic construction investments funded by the State budget in the city.
The city’s management of its construction investments has brought great achievements over recent years as many construction works have made significant contributions to the local urban development.
The management of the work was in compliance with the State’s regulations, and the efficiency of the investments had increased considerably.
Since 2003, the Management Board has been managing a total of 72 projects, 42 of which have already been completed, 12 are underway, and the remainder are about to be deployed soon.
With regard to the disbursement of public capital for the Management Board to implement traffic projects, 427 billion VND from the city budget was planned to be earmarked in 2016, whilst 288 billion VND for 2017, and 846 billion VND for 2018.
Since 2016, many traffic infrastructure projects have been deployed across the city.
Included are the construction of a road tunnel at the western end of the Han River Bridge, the north-west traffic axis No 1 linking the Hue J-junction overpass with the Cancer Hospital, approach roads to the Nguyen Van Troi and Tran Thi Ly bridges, the riverside Tuyen Son-Tuy Loan route, the Hoa Ninh-Hoa Phu inter-commune road, and Man Quang embankment system.
Management Board Director Le Van Lam said the biggest obstacles to the construction progress of some projects are site clearance and compensation work, and the selection of construction units.
The inspection group members asked the Management Board handle any issues arising during the project deployment.
Importance should be attached to enhancing the capacity of design consultants and construction supervisors, and closely tightening the processes in evaluating and testing the quality of construction works.
In his remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman Trung underlined the importance of accelerating the progress of the existing projects in a quick yet effective manner.
Also on the same day, the inspection group also had a working session with the leaders of the Management Board of Da Nang Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects.
As planned, over 539 billion VND from the city budget was scheduled to be allocated for the Management Board in 2016, whilst over 538 billion VND for 2017 and over 694 billion VND for 2018.
