This was announced at a conference hosted by the municipal People’s Council on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho said the city authorities had prepared several plans to construct access points to public beaches in Ngu Hanh Son District, which were expected to be completed in September this year.
In future, two access points on Ho Xuan Huong Street and at Ariyana Beach Resort will also be opened.
While the project at Ariyana Beach Resort is expected to be approved by July and launched in September, the deadline for the access point on Ho Xuan Huong Street has not yet been decided. This has confused even the city’s leaders.
“Can you elaborate for the people the design, construction progress, and completion time of these projects? I know it is impossible to give a proper answer at the moment. However, can leaders of the Department of Construction commit to propose solutions during the mid-year meeting of the municipal People’s Council?” municipal People’s Council Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung asked Vu Quang Hung, the Director of the city Department of Construction.
Replying to Trung, Hung said the department had set up a plan to construct the beach access point on Ho Xuan Huong Street, allowing local residents to go to the sea.
“We will develop the project plan, implementation progress and capital once it is approved by the city authorities. Regarding other beach accesses, we have prepared several plans and will propose them to the city’s leaders at the next conference,” said Hung.
Chairman Tho said beach access points were only the tip of the iceberg. Conversely, they were seeking solutions to effectively develop urban areas and improve beachside economy and services, e-newspaper infonet reported.
Sharing the opinion, Trung called for collaboration of enterpirses in community projects.
“We hope companies support the city in expanding APEC Park and providing open access to public beaches as well share the community’s common interests to improve the city’s environment and companies’ activities,” he said.
