Published: May 02, 2018

During the freshly-concluded 4-day holiday period between 28 April and 1 May for the National Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labour Day (1 May), there was a massive influx of holidaymakers from both home and abroad into Da Nang. This happy sign really re-affirms the city’s firm stature as one of Viet Nam’s top tourist magnets.

During the recent holiday break, such downtown streets as Bach Dang, Tran Phu, Tran Hung Dao, Vo Nguyen Giap, Le Duan and Nguyen Van Linh became more bustling than normal days with big crowds of locals and visitors.

Similar bustling atmosphere was seen at the Da Nang International Airport, the Railway Station and the Inter-provincial Coach Station.

In a festive mood, the beautiful beaches of Pham Van Dong, My Khe and Nguyen Tat Thanh, along with other popular attractions, including the Marble Mountains Tourism Area, Linh Ung Pagoda, Asia Park, Helio Entertainment Complex, and Sun World Ba Na Hills, were also packed with holidaymakers.

Ms Nguyen Thi Nam Hung, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, experienced very relaxing and joyful moments during her stay in this beautiful tourist-packed city.

Ms Hung and her family members flocked to local beach to seek cool air, enjoy mouth-watering seafood, and especially, witness with their naked eyes stunning performances on the recent opening night of the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF). In this tourist’s remarks, Da Nang is indeed a tourism paradise with sufficient diversified, attractive services.

Mr Doan Hai Dang, the Director of the city’s branch of Vietravel, happily said a total of 45 groups of visitors with a combined total of 1,600 booked tours to the city through his travel agency during the holiday festival.

The volume of domestic visitors booking tours through the city-based Vitours climbed by 15%, whilst foreigners with 50% up against the same period last year.

The Marble Mountains Area Site hosted 25,742 visitors, of whom 12,025 were foreigners, up 47% against the same period last year.

In a similar vein, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park and the Sun World Ba Na Hills welcomed 10,000 and 15,000 visitors, respectively.

Such tourism beaches as My Khe and Nguyen Tat Thanh, and those near the East Sea Park were relatively crowded all day long.

Crowds gathered at these beaches to swim or to take part in various exciting cultural and sporting activities during the Beach Tourism Season 2018 programme from 27 April and 1 May.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the city welcomed a total of around 340,000 visitors from both home and abroad during the 4-day break holiday, an increase of 10.2% compared with the same period last year.

Of this figure, the number of foreigners climbed by 28.8% to hit 108,930, whilst that of domestic visitors went up by 3.2% to 234,062.

The significant increase in tourist arrival numbers was mainly attributed to the city’s strenuous efforts in ensuring a safe and civilised tourism environment for visitors.

During their stay in the city, visitors were treated to an array of fascinating cultural and entertainment activities, especially DIFF, Beach Tourism Season, the street carnival, plus other entertainment programmes which took place over the holiday.

Another reason is that many local tourist attractions gave the top priority to enhancing their own services, whilst their prices were kept unchanged.

The Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, for instance, has already launched the 9D-12D, allowing viewers to plunge in the world of virtual reality, and become totally involved in what is happening on the screen, and feel movements, rays of sun, wind blowing and humid air of ocean breeze.

The International cuisine space, entitled ‘Tastes of 4 Seasons’, is taking place until 30 June.

Covering over 20,000m2, with the capacity of 5,000 guests, the food hub features delicate Japanese cuisine, delicious European food and tasty Vietnamese dishes.

“The wizard” who handcrafted the event is no other than the renowned Master chef Pham Tuan Hai.

All ingredients are fresh and hand-picked, having gone through fine selections and quality inspection before being served to guests.

A visitor from Ha Noi remarked the room rates, food and entrance fees to some tourist attractions in Da Nang are considerably cheaper than in other local localities nationwide.
