Over recent months, Da Nang’s relevant agencies, in a prompt fashion, have been actively involved in addressing issues of concern regarding urban planning, land and human resources, environmental protection, and other aspects raised by business associations, and domestic and foreign enterprises operating in the city at the programme ‘Talk of Spring 2018’.

Held in March, the 1-day event aimed at collecting constructive ideas and recommendations for accelerating the city’s sustainable development during this year.

In active response to recommendations made by Mr Ricky Tan, the Chairman of Kinderworld Education Group in Singapore, the city leaders have given a nod to the Pegasus Investment & Consultancy JSC to conduct research into the implementation of the 20ha Pegasus Smart UniCity project in the Hoa Quy New Urban Area.

As for the support for the Pegasus Eco-tourism Complex in the Khe Ram eco-tourism site, Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District, relevant local agencies submitted to the municipal government plans for making reasonable adjustments to the planning of the Khe Ram area, hereby facilitating the implementation of the project.

General Director of the MASSDA Land Company Limited Lee Yai Sin complained about the delays in the movement of businesses out of the existing An Don Industrial Park in Son Tra District in order to implement the expansion of the An Loc Vien residential area by 4.2 ha.

In a positive move to deal with this issue, the municipal government asked the Da Nang Industrial Parks (IPs) and Export Processing Zone Authority to implement a project to relocate businesses operating in the IP.

In an attempt to deal with a complaint made by a representative from the Viet Hoa Electronics Co Ltd about the deterioration of routes leading to the Hoa Khanh IP, under the instruction from the city leaders, the Industrial Zone Infrastructure Development and Exploitation Company (Daizico) has started the upgrade on routes No 2 and No 6. The work is expected to be completed by late this year.

As for the handling of a shortage of clean water for production activities in the Hoa Khanh IP, the Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO), has already launched the deployment of a project for building a high-pressure pumping station and a water reservoir in this IP.

Within this year, DAWACO will implement the expansion of the water supply system at the Hoa Lien Plant, including the installation of pipelines at this IP.

Last, but not least, the city authorities have also taken effective measures in active response to a matter raised by the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) regarding medium and long-term urban traffic infrastructure in the current context of the rapid growth of the tourism industry.

In the coming time, appeals for domestic and foreign investment will be made to construct public parking areas over the 2018 – 2020 period at a total cost of 646.3 billion VND under public-private partnership (PPP) format, and develop inland ports catering for tourism.

To date, some public parking lots have been set up along the downtown Bach Dang Street, and near restaurants and hotels.

At a meeting on Tuesday, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh asked relevant local agencies to complete the handling of the remaining complaints and recommendations in a more effective manner by mid July.
