A group of students from the Da Nang University of Economics has won the 1st prize of the Da Nang Startup Runway 2018 for their ‘JustOrder’ project.

Most notably, the winners are the youngest contestants in this year’s competition. They are final-year student Duong Phuc Khanh, and three first-year students Truong Nguyen Thao, Huynh Thi Tu Uyen, and Luu Thi Quynh Nhi.

The idea to create the ‘JustOrder’ app came from Khanh as he was waiting in line for ordering his favourite milk tea. It took these talented students 4 months to develop their app on smartphone.

Their app allows its users to buy drinks or food without waiting in line. Also, it will help to improve customer satisfaction, and reduce unnecessary workloads for drinking and eating service providers.

Users find it very easy to download the ‘JustOrder’ app and log in with their smart phones. Then, they can choose their favourite drinks or food on the menus of their service providers.

After ordering their drinks or food, customers will get a push notification asking if they are ready. When the ordered drinks or food are ready for being served, a message will be sent to customers’ phones, and they then go to the counter to pick up their drinks or food.

Through the ‘JustOrder’ mobile app, customers can send their comments about the service quality.

In a bid to persuade the competition’s judges, the first prize winners have focused on conducting market surveys, developing business plans, and making financial reports.

In particular, Khanh has been responsible for technical app, Nhi for conducting market surveys, Uyen for making financial reports, and Thao - the group’s leader – for grasping the whole of work and translating English documents into Vietnamese ones for reference.

Most notably, in the final round of the 2018 Da Nang Startup Runway in early June, the app developers’ perfect presentation in English fully conquered the board of judges.

Dr Nguyen Xuan Lan, the Deputy Dean of the University’s Business Administration Faculty, spoke highly of the creativity of the project in integrating many functions into one mobile app to help users save their time.

He said that he was impressed with the eagerness to learn and professionalism of these talented students. He, therefore, affirmed that ‘JustOrder’ developers deserved the 2018 Da Nang Startup Runway championship title.

Currently, the ‘JustOrder’ project is drawing a lot of attention from business incubator centres in the city and some foreign countries.
