The Da Nang Department of Information and Communications has announced the index of the application of information technology (IT) for 2017 in government agencies, departments, and municipal to commune-level People’s Committees (PC) across the city. 

The rankings are based on the following criteria: IT infrastructure, its application, employee involvement, and investment policies in the sector.

According to the index results, the municipal Department of Information and Communications took first place amongst a group of 24 local government agencies and departments in total with 93.05 points on the 100-point scale. It was followed by the Department of Home Affairs with 89.34 points and the Department of Transport with 87.04. Three other units also were in the ‘good tier’ are the departments of Labour, War Invalid and Social Affairs, Science and Technologies, and Finance.

With regard to city-based national agencies, the municipal Taxation Department came top with 88.06 points, followed by the departments of Social Insurance and Customs with 82.18 and 82.11 points, respectively.

The Thanh Khe District’s PC led the district-level authorities with 89.64 points, followed by the Son Tra, Hoa Vang and Cam Le districts’ PCs with 84.14, 81.52 and 81.14 points, respectively.

As for the category of ward and commune-level authorities, there were 12 ward/ commune PCs listed in the ‘good tier’.

Also at the event, 13 units were given Certificates of Merit from the municipal PC for their outstanding achievements in the application of IT during 2016.
