Expanding 'Comfort as Home' project into key tourism localities

On Friday, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism held a ceremony in Da Nang to expand the ‘Comfort as Home’ project into some local key tourism localities.

Addressing the event, Mr Ngo Hoai Chung, Deputy Director General of the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, highlighted the significance of expanding this model in increasing the efficiency of business activities, ensuring a safe, civilised and friendly tourism environment for both domestic and foreign visitors, as well as raising public awareness about building a healthy tourism environment.

Mr Chung added that this model has been so far developed in some localities nationwide, including Da Nang, and Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue provinces.

In his remarks at the event, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung highly praised the Hai Chau District Entrepreneurs’ Association for its the ‘Comfort as Home’ project, and the municipal Department of Tourism for standing side by side with the Association during the implementation process of this project.

He also underlined the necessity of implementing the project in making Da Nang a safer and more friendly destination for both domestic and foreign travellers, as well as upholding the responsibilities of enterprises, businesspeople, departments, agencies and residents in effectively building healthy living and tourism environment, and a civilised urban lifestyle.

Vice Chairman Dung asked relevant agencies to encourage 1,000 hotels, guest houses, coffee shops and restaurants to offer free use of their restrooms to domestic and foreign visitors.

Over the past 3 years, a total of 460 hotels, guest houses, coffee shops and restaurants in Da Nang’s districts of Hai Chau, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son have offered free use of their restrooms to domestic and foreign visitors.
