Notably, many startup training courses have been held in the city, and startup-related subjects have been taught in some universities and junior colleges.
During that period, incentive policies, consultancy services about technological innovation, and startup online courses, have been offered to businesses.
The information was released at Tuesday’s meeting to review the performance of the Da Nang Coordination Council for Business Start-up Network (DSC) in the first half of the year, and identify its key tasks for the remaining months.
In his remarks at the meeting, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman cum Chairman of DSC Ho Ky Minh asked the municipal Department of Science and Technology to join forces with the Ministry of Science and Technology to ensure the success of the Techfest 2018. This year’s startup event is expected to take place in Da Nang in November.
Also, the city’s Hi-tech Park Authority was urged to develop plans to attract even more domestic and foreign investment into the park.
Some participants suggested that the city leader should promote startup training programmes in universities and junior colleges, as well as build more facilities for training and incubating startup businesses at the Hi-tech Park.
Also at the event, 12 groups and 9 individuals were given Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee in recognition of their active involvement in the startup activities in 2016 and 2017.
