This figure was released by the Da Nang branch of the National Steering Committee on Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389),
As a result, the total amount of administrative fines imposed on the violators, the collection of tax arrears and the sales of confiscated goods reached a total of more than 77.4 billion VND.
Currently, the city is facing some issues of deep concern challenging the current State management of trade and services. Included are the upward trend of e-commerce associated with the risk of large tax losses, cost-free tours, goods of unknown origin, and the trading of fake, counterfeit, illegally smuggled, and poor-quality goods, especially drugs.
At Wednesday’s meeting with relevant agencies, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh asked them to continue their efforts in tackling commercial frauds and the trading of fake, counterfeit, illegally smuggled, and poor-quality goods.
In particular, Steering Committee 389 was required to review their 4-year performance in conducting anti-smuggling activities, and honouring units and individuals for their outstanding achievements in the fight against the trading violations.
