Since the start of this year, inspectors from the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology have conducted a surprise inspection and 8 scheduled inspections at a total of 63 production and trading establishments across the city, a rise of 10% in the number of establishments against last year.

The intention was to check quality and labels of products at electric and electronic equipment, helmets, children’s toys, steel, and gas shops.

During their inspections, the inspectors have also widely publicised the city’s regulations about standards, metrology, quality, and nuclear radiation safety amongst the shop owners.

Mr Nguyen Viet Nguyen, the Department’s Chief Inspector, said in the coming time his unit will join forces with relevant agencies to increase their checks over the quality of goods at production and trading establishments across the city.
