Under PM’s decision, the Authority of Da Nang’s Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks has been set up based on a merger between the Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zone Authority, and the High-tech Park Authority.

The newly-established Authority is working under the direct management of the municipal People’s Committee (PC).

It takes the responsibility for managing the Hi-tech Park and other industrial parks in the city, as well as providing public administrative services, and other support services relating to investment, production, and business activities, for investors operating in the Hi-tech Park and other industrial parks in the city.

The Authority has its own legal status, bank account and seal with the national emblem. The costs for the State management and the performance of the Authority will come from the national budget.

With regard to the organisational structure of the Authority, there are some offices, 4 functional offices, and 2 public units.

In particular, key positions have been appointed in the new Authority. In detail, Municipal PC Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh has been named as the Head of the new Authority. Meanwhile, deputy heads are Mr Doan Ngoc Hung Anh and Mr Pham Truong Son, former deputy heads of the High-tech Park Authority, and Mr Tran Van Bien and Mr Le Hoang Duc, former deputy heads of the Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zone Authority.

Municipal PC Chairman Huynh Duc Tho remarked over recent years, his city has seen the very rapid growth of tourism and travel-related services, whilst the growth of industries has been slower than expected. Mr Tho, therefore, highlighted the significance of promoting the development of industries with a focus on pollution-free and hi-tech industries.

The city chief also urged the newly-established Authority to do their utmost to perfect the organisational structure, speed up the construction progress of infrastructure at the Hi-tech Park and dedicated IT Industrial Park, and effectively implement investment promotion activities.

Top priority should be given to rearranging existing IPs, especially the Hoa Khanh IP, and accelerating the relocation of the An Don IP and the construction of the Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh IPs in Hoa Vang District.
