Chengdu promotes tourism and trade in city

A conference to promote Chengdu’s tourism and its trade took place in Da Nang on Monday.

Hosted by the Chengdu Tourism Department, the event was attended by representatives from tourism businesses and tourism service providers of the 2 cities.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung highlighted the significance of the conference in boosting the bilateral tourism cooperation, as well as providing a chance for the participants to exchange tourism products and visitors in their localities, and learn about the demands and the taste of tourists in each locality in a bid to enhance the quality of tourism services in their localities in the coming time.

During the conference, representatives from the Chengdu Tourism Department introduced the participants to their local travel agencies and potential tourism services.

Boasting a history of 2,300 years, Chengdu - the capital of Sichuan Province - has 20 districts, towns and hi-tech zones in total.

The city is also the capital of the world's cuisine. It is renowned for its spicy and numbing characteristics when offering over 6,000 dishes with a tremendously diverse range of styles.

Chengdu will have its second international airport in operation by 2020 to become the third city in China to have two airports for commercial flights after Beijing and Shanghai.

At present, there are 4 non-stop flights connecting Chengdu and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.
