City records significant growth last year

According to the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, in 2018 the city has recorded a significant growth in its production and business activities.

In particular, the industrial production value hit an estimated 61,600 billion VND, a rise of 9.2% against 2017, and the industrial production index climbed by 7.18%.

Over the last year, the city attracted a total of 22 new projects worth 1,369 billion VND in total into industrial parks, and 7 others valued at 204 million USD in total into the Hi-tech Park.

The export turnover of products reached an estimate of 1.6 billion USD, up 13% against 2017, and the import turnover generated 1.4 billion USD, up 11.3%.

The total value of retail sales of goods and services hit an estimated 90,200 billion VND, up 6.8% compared with the same period of 2017.

In 2019, the city targets to increase its industrial production index to 7.2%, and its imports and exports to 12% against 2018.

By the end of this year, the total value of retail sales of goods and services is likely to reach an estimate of 100,000 billion VND.

The municipal Department of Industry and Trade will focus on attracting even more domestic and foreign investment into industrial and commercial infrastructure, as well as promoting the development of Cam Le, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Khanh Nam and Hoa Hiep Bac industrial clusters.

Heed will be paid to effectively implementing trade and industrial promotion activities, boosting the development of e-commerce, and building civilised trading activities in local markets.
