This result was revealed in a passenger satisfaction survey conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV).
The survey was conducted between October and December last year at 6 airports of Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, and Cat Bi.
The assessment result is based on the 25,000 questionnaires copies, each with 25 criteria for evaluating the satisfaction of passengers split into the 7 areas of the airport: departure terminal area, checking-in area, security screening area, immigration area, departure lounges, arrival terminals, and public transport.
The score levels were 5 (exellence), 4 (good), 3 (average), 2 (bad) and 1 (very bad).
In all criteria, passengers rated the service quality at Cat Bi Airport to the highest standard with an average score of 4.56/5 points. It was followed by Cam Ranh Airport with an average of 4.31 points, Da Nang International Airport with 4.23 points, Noi Bai International Airport with 4.22 points, and Phu Quoc Airport with 4.04 points. Tan Son Nhat International Airport came in last place with 3.96 points.
According to the CAAV, the final result was mainly attributed to additional investment for infrastructure development, and the operation of international passenger terminals in 2018 at Cat Bi, Khanh Hoa, and Da Nang airports.
In October 2014, Da Nang International Airport stood in 3rd place out of the 96 airports worldwide according to a survey of the quality of terminal and commercial ground services by Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited.
