Da Nang has always drawn a great deal of attention from domestic and foreign investors thanks to its noticeable advantages in terms of modern infrastructure, effective public governance, IT application, and investment environment

One of the projects which have captured a great deal of public attention in recent times is the 170 million US$ Sunshine aerospace components factory, developed by the US-based Universal Alloy Corporation Asia Pte. LTD-UAC, at the Da Nang Hi-tech Park in Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District.

According to Mr Kevin Loebbaka, Chief Operating Officer for Universal Alloy Corporation, the project deployment is divided into 2 stages. The 1st stage, covering an area of more than 10.9 ha is expected to be completed in January 2020, whilst the 2nd stage, covering more than 5.8 ha, is slated to start in April 2023.

It is notable that a special person who was actively engaged in helping Da Nang appeal for this leading global manufacturer of aircraft components for aerospace companies is Mr. Andy Luong. This is an overseas Vietnamese man who has lived in the U.S.A for nearly 30 years, and especially, worked for UAC for along time.

Mr. Andy Luong pointed out some main reasons why UAC chose Da Nang for its aerospace components factory. In reality, Da Nang boasts such highly competitive advantages as relatively reasonable costs for production and business activities, good infrastructure and services, plus clean, beautiful environment and rich cuisine. Besides, aerospace manufacturing industry needs the long-term operation stability which Da Nang is able to ensure.

The entrepreneur added UAC has also received a strong commitment from the municipal government about favourable conditions given to the project’s implementation work, and even its business expansion activities in the future. Last, but not least, the project developers highly appreciated the city’s enthusiastic and highly skilled labour force.

In another story, Mr Lam Hung, who is in charge of managing construction activities at the US Key Tronic EMS Group, the developer of the 70 million USD factory which manufactures automobile signal lights for export at the expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (IP), said, prior the decision to invest in Da Nang, he and the US Key Tronic EMS Group’s leaders spent much time conducting surveys of the investment environment in many Vietnamese provinces.

The Da Nang-born businessman whose family has settled down in the U.S.A said, “While we were in dilemma in which we had to choose either Binh Duong or Quang Ngai, I suddenly thought of Da Nang-my roots. In fact, Da Nang has developed rapidly beyond my imagination. Through some contact and information, finally, it took only 30 days for us to come to a decision: investing in Da Nang.”.

From the perspective of a domestic investor, Mr. Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, the Chairman of the Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG), the official and exclusive distributor of 120 top-world luxury brands, highly praised Da Nang for its commercial development potential.

He revealed the IPPG plans to open the first-ever duty-free commercial centre in this city. The birth of such a trading venue is much anticipated to stimulate the growing demand for shopping amongst local residents and tourists as well.

An investor from Canada, Mr. Rashid Khan, who is a manager of the CAN - AIM High School based in Toronto, Canada, affirmed he had an in-depth discussion with the city leaders about expanding cooperation opportunities.

He revealed that the CAN - AIM High School plans to open a representative office in the city to enroll Vietnamese pupils who wish to study at this independent private high school, and to carry out other education projects in this city.

Currently, the CAN - AIM High School- granted diplomas have been widely approved in Canada as well as many countries worldwide.

Through the above-mentioned perspectives held by the businesspeople about Da Nang,  it can be clearly seen that Da Nang has always drawn a great deal of attention from domestic and foreign investors in many key aspects. Noticeable advantages in terms of modern infrastructure, effective public governance, IT application, and the municipal administration’s great efforts in enhancing the investment environment has facilitated the city to attract even more domestic and foreign investment, hereby laying a foundation for it to make breakthroughs in the coming time.
