Private investment welcomed into expansion of Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital
Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia, along with other city leaders, on Saturday, had a working session with relevant agencies and units to discuss the implementation of some projects across the city.

According to a report released by the municipal Department of Health, the upgrade and expansion of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital is scheduled to be implemented at an estimated 1,486 billion VND.
Under the project, a 15-storey building, with a total of 750 inpatient hospital beds, which can give medical examinations to between 1,000 and 1,500 outpatients each day.
Secretary Nghia highlighted the significance of appealing for private investment to implement this project, and asked some concerned units to handle relevant procedures for this project for its soonest commencement.
In regard to the city-based Duy Tan University’s proposal on the construction of its facilities in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Secretary Nghia urged the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment and this private educational establishment to ask for permission from the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment to access land for the project’s deployment.
Besides, the city Party chief asked functional bodies to make possible adjustments to the planning of the Pharmaceutical Biomedical Research and Training Institute and the Centre for Diagnostic and Laboratory Practice, proposed by the Duy Tan University, in line with the compulsory planning indicators.
Also at the working session, the city Party chief highly praised the transportation sector making the detailed planning of some anchorage locations for tourist boats.
In particular, he asked relevant agencies and investors to choose the certain tourist boat models which are suitable for their operation on various waterway routes, and highlight the special characteristics of the city as well.
Also, the municipal departments of Tourism and Construction were asked to come up with design ideas for soon-to-be-built wharves which not only serve the anchorage of tourist boats but they also become attractions for both locals and visitors.
In addition to the above-mentioned projects, Secretary Nghia also agreed with the municipal People's Committee to grant a land area to the owners of 6,000m2 of land which will be taken back in order to expand the existing APEC Park.
The park was built on a 3.047m2 triangular-shaped vacant land lot at the intersection area of 2 September street and Bach Dang extended street, near the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, in Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District.
The expansion of this wonderful cultural landmark aims to create more green spaces for the city centre, and allow diplomatic events and festivals to be held here as well.
