The 6-day festival features various fascinating activities, including art kite-flying performances, coracle racing, folk games, a flashmob bikini show, and public dancing performances. This year’s activities are more professional and attractive than last year’s, thereby drawing much attention from both domestic and foreign visitors.

In addition, during this year’s programme, Da Nang beaches are more inviting to locals and visitors thanks to many beautiful and eye-catching display areas there. Included are coracle installation arts space, a photo exhibition featuring the beauty of Da Nang, and an exhibition displaying products made from recycled materials.

One of the highlights of the programme was the ‘A Day in a life of Xu Quang Chef’ programme.

On 14, 15 and 16 June, visitors to the event had the opportunity to learn how to prepare some specialities of the central region such as ‘goi ca’ (raw fish salad), ‘banh bot loc' (tapioca dumplings with prawns and pork in banana leaves), and ‘banh xu xe’ (glutinous coconut cakes with mung-bean paste). After that, they enjoyed the dishes prepared by themselves.

Ms Tran Ngoc Thien Ly from Ha Tinh Province said she was impressed with the great enthusiasm of local chefs as introducing her to how to make ‘goi ca’ and incredible sauces.

Mrs Huynh Thi Thanh, a member from the Da Nang Professional Chefs' Club, said sharing experiences in processing and cooking local dishes with locals and visitors was the joy of the chefs. She also highlighted the significance of such programme in helping domestic and foreign visitors understand more about the cuisine of Da Nang, and the central region as a whole.

Ms Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism remarked this year’s Da Nang - Summer Rendezvous programme has received a lot of positive feedback from locals and visitors.

“Unlike previous years, this year’s programme has focused on entertainment activities that both locals and visitors can participate in. Included are teambuilding activities, collective games, and singing contests for local pupils, students and tour guides” she added.
