According to Director of the Da Nang Department of Transportation Le Van Trung, in the first half of this year, local public buses transported a combined total of 3 million passengers. Of this figure, 1.7 million passengers travelled on subsidised intra-city buses and the remainder used inter-provincial ones.

In particular, the number of passengers using subsidised bus services increased by 12.8 % to reach 1,740,097 versus the year-ago period.

The average number of passengers on one bus stood at 16.4.

In particular, the Nguyen Tat Thanh - Xuan Dieu Bus Station route saw the highest volume of passengers with 150,156 as its buses travel through many local schools and residential areas, followed by the Xuan Dieu Bus Station – the Viet Nam - Korea Friendship IT College and the Xuan Dieu Bus Station – the municipal Inter-provincial Coach Station routes, with the 99,827 and 94,904 bus fares sold, respectively.

During the review period, a total 96.6 million VND in fines was imposed on 138 violation cases in which other road users had their vehicles parked at designated bus stops along streets.
