City hosts first-ever supply-demand matching conference in support industries

Hosted by the Da Nang government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the first-ever Supply-Demand Matching Conference in Support Industries in the Central and Central Highlands regions took place in the city on Friday.

In attendance at the event were Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai, and Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh, along with 350 other delegates from business associations, businesses and investors from 14 nationwide localities, plus those from some other foreign countries.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Minh, revealed, in the coming time, Da Nang will focus on developing on 5 strategic breakthroughs, namely tourism, high-quality services associated with resort real estate; seaports and aviation associated with logistics services; hi-tech industry in combination with the construction of innovative start-up urban area; IT, electronics and telecommunications associated with digital economy; and hi-tech agricultural products and fisheries.

Based on these strategies, the city will work closely with localities in the central and central Highlands regions, and the country at large, for more effective cooperation and more sustainable progress.

The conference offered the opportunity to create a closer link between enterprises involved in the support industries in Da Nang and other localities in the central and central Highlands regions with large manufacturing and assembling enterprises, multinational corporations and foreign investors, thereby penetrating into global supply chains.

Deputy Minister Hai noted that the national government has always paid attention to creating even more favourable conditions for the support industries across the country, including those in the central and Central Highlands regions, to further their development.

Within the framework of the event, there were booths featuring products made by the participating businesses. They were domestic industrial enterprises which look for further consumers and those involved in manufacturing and assembling automobiles and other machinery and equipment wanting to seek parts and accessories suppliers.
