In addition, municipal People's Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung, People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh, and leaders of relevant departments and agencies witnessed the signing ceremony.

Under the MoU, the two sides will focus on promoting investment attraction into each city.

In particular, Da Nang and Kisarazu will create very favourable conditions for their businesses to learn about the investment climate in their partner locality.

Also, conferences and seminars to promote investment into the both cities will be organised periodically, whilst investment-related information exchange will be enhanced.

Both cities will actively participate in Viet Nam-Japan cultural exchange activities held in the two localities, and widely advertise tourist attractions, cultural events and festivals in their localities amongst citizens of each locality.

Also, heed will be paid to developing internship programmes for  technical intern trainees of the two cities. Besides, Kisarazu will assist Da Nang to train Japanese interpreters.

In his remarks at the signing ceremony, Chairman Tho affirmed Japan has always been one of his city’s close partners and leading investors over recent years. Many businesses from Kisarazu have been operating effectively in the city.

He noted Da Nang is willing to roll out the red carpet for investors from Kisarazu to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang in such aspects as information technology, hi-tech, tourism and trade, thereby contributing to promoting the sustainable development of the two cities.

For his part, Mr Yoshikuni Watanabe said although Kisarazus’s total area was smaller than Da Nang’s, they shared many similarities in economic development strategies.

He, therefore, hoped that the signing of MoU would help the two localities expand their cooperative relations in various aspects, including trade, investment, culture, and people-to-people exchange.
