8,550 billion VND for collecting, recycling, treating domestic solid waste
A total of 8,546 billion VND will be poured into collecting, transporting, reusing, recycling and treating domestic solid waste. Of this, 1,936 billion VND will be funded by the city budget, whilst the remainder will come from local businesses’ budgets.
By 2025, all wards and communes will have implemented the sorting of domestic solid waste at families, and 100% of industrial parks and production establishments, service providers, and government agencies and organisations will have classified waste at the source.
95% of solid waste will be collected for treatment over the 2019 – 2025 period, with at least 12% and 15% to be recycled and reused in 2020 and 2025 respectively.
Also, garbage collection and transfer stations meeting technical requirements will be set up at all residential and urban areas.
This year, focus is on stopping the burying of hazardous domestic solid waste at landfill sites, investing in the construction of a solid waste treatment plant, upgrading facilities to ensure the thorough treatment of waste arising from the Khanh Son Landfill, and ensuring that trash burial rate donot exceed 20%.
