On Wednesday, representatives from around 40 Da Nang and Dutch enterprises attended a workshop in Da Nang on promoting connection between businesses of the two localities.

In his remarks at the event, Dutch Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Carel Richter said Da Nang has been emerging as a favourite destination for many large Dutch corporations such as Heineken, Unilever and Philips. With its average annual GDP growth rate of approximately 11%, the city is amongst the top economies in Viet Nam.

He noted Dutch businesses boast strengths of waste and water resource management technologies, hi-tech industry, and modern technologies to build smarter and airport cities.

Speaking to DA NANG Newspaper reporter, Mr Carel Richter stated that the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) would bring great benefits to Vietnamese and Dutch investors. The purpose was to fully tap the city’s potential for promoting the development of Dutch and Da Nang economies in the years to come.

He emphasised many investors from his country were willing to pour their money into Da Nang due to its open and transparent investment environment and its preferential policies for foreign investors.
