At an event held by the Da Nang Business Incubator late last month, the local young start-up community had the opportunity to meet with Mr Logan Herzog, an American national, who is one of the Silicon Valley-trained instructors from the Malaysia-based Growthx Asia.

With his rich experience in training entrepreneurs to scale and next generation professionals to level up their careers, Mr Logan pointed out to the key points in the formula for breakthrough growth in startups.

According to this US expert, it is really necessary to clearly identify the greatest values that startup highlights. He suggested that the founders regularly evaluate whether or not their products meet the most practical needs of customers.

It is also worth mentioning that developing start-up projects is very tough as challenges, difficulties, and even repeated failures can become inevitable problems. Young entrepreneurs, therefore, need to learn how to fail smartly, which means that getting up firmly from a fall and moving towards sucesss.

In particular, the US expert noted, “Imagination is more important than knowledge’, which is deeply cosmically true, especially for startups. Actually, startup means solving problematic issues that have yet to be dealt with.

Mr Nguyen Xuan Huy, the Director of the city-based Technocom, had worked for multinational corporations active in the software industry for more than 14 years before he set up this company. He realised that such training courses taught by foreign startup mentors are of great significance to his startup thinking.

“Keeping moving forward with a sharp mind and high determination for a long journey is more important than striving to stabilise everything for a short period of time”, Huy said.

Fearlessness of failure, ability to ask questions, international-scale thinking and curiosity are the qualities needed to become a successful entrepreneur.

With an increasingly connected entrepreneurial ecosystem, the city’s startup community now has many opportunities to learn valuable experience from international startups.

According to Ms Tran Hanh Trang, the CEO and Co-founder of the city-based Enouvo IT Solutions Ltd., the founders of many young startups donot have enough money to attend training courses abroad and participate in major start-up events worldwide.

Fortunately, thanks to meaningful exchange events held right in Da Nang, they are facilitated to interact with international experts, thereby opening up many development opportunities for their projects.
