Recent years have seen a growing number of visitors to museums across Da Nang. The positive sign has been mainly attributed to the great efforts made by the museums’ staff in expanding exhibition spaces, innovating operation programmes, and promoting the publicity of the images of their museums in the mass media.

In the first half of the year, the city’s Museum of Cham Sculpture received around 280,000 domestic and foreign visitors.

The impressive figure can be mainly attributed to the opening of a new display of 47 artifacts at the museum’s open storage, and a gallery on a collection of documentary photos about Champa temple towers in south central region of Viet Nam.

In addition, a 3D projector has been used at the museum in a bid to make the introduction of displayed artifacts more vivid.

In a similar vein, the Museum of Da Nang has focused on rearranging exhibition spaces inside it, including areas displaying Da Nang’s prehistoric times, the culture of ethnic groups in the city, and its traditional agriculture.

Moreover, many attractive programmes have been held at the museum such as ‘Traditional Tet Festive Day’ and ‘The Artifacts Tell Stories’. These programmes have helped to attract a large number of visitors to the museum, as well as educate younger generations about the city’s long-lasting history and culture.

Mr Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien, the Director of the Museum of Da Nang, said as of 4 August, his museum had welcomed a total of 211,781 visitor arrivals.

In addition to public museums, such private museums as the Dong Dinh and the 3D art museum called 'Art in Paradise Da Nang' have been put into operation in the city, which has contributed to diversifying tourist sites in the city.

Visitors to the Dong Dinh Museum can freely immerse themselves into a space imbued with indigenously cultural identity. Meanwhile, the 3D art museum is a cool place to take impressive and unique photos.

The Chairman of the municipal Travel Association, Mr Cao Tri Dung, remarked museums are indispensable attractions in the lists of places to visit in the city provided by local travel agencies. As arriving in the museums, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the city’s history and culture in a vivid and complete manner.
