One more rural area stamps out ASF epidemic
It was announced on Tuesday that outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, have been finally stamped out.
Previously, first ASF outbreak was detected in a family in the commune’s An Son Village on 3 July. As a result, the family’s herd of 76 pigs weighing 4,143 kilos in total was destroyed.
On 11 July, 104 pigs with a total weight of 6,601 kilos infected with the highly contagious disease were destroyed in the commune’s Village No 1.
Over the past one month, the Hoa Ninh Commune authorities have made every effort to increase their monitoring of pig farms in a bid to prevent spread of ASF in the locality.
To date, the communes of Hoa Chau, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phu and Hoa Ninh in Hoa Vang District have stamped out the epidemic.
